Goals

Facilitate 50 internships for Florence students in Austin

Process

The AF Alliance will establish multiple options to facilitate internships for Italians in Austin:

Austin Internships

1.    The AF Alliance has establish a curriculum package that will start with a short language course in Austin and will be followed by a company internship. The language school will provide students with the necessary visa and the AF Alliance will facilitate the transition from those studies into the internships.

2.    The AF Alliance will facilitate internships directly with organizations registered to issue J1 visas. This will be a more selective process, but the AF Alliance will work with employers to select interns from Florence and support the students throughout the internships.

3.    AF Alliance will apply to become a J1 visa granting organization. This will provide the broadest set of options and greatest flexibility for Florence students, but it will take more administrative support. It therefore will require some fundraising to be viable.

AF Alliance has secured the first commitment from Affinity Engineering (AES) to hire an intern from the University of Florence during the summer of 2023. This will serve as the first internship in Austin. Click here to find out more about this internship.
