Travel and Lifelong Learning

Curated learning programs that are seasonal, personally crafted, creative and that celebrate the time in life where the unbounded resource of time gives the opportunity to thrive and live fully. Lecture series with scholars, artists in residence, culinary workshops, wellness workshops, and array of academic programs that explore a range of subjects from archaeology and art history, foreign language, and film, to literature and political science and the environmental sciences. Academic pursuits for curious learners, who want to engage their minds, and push beyond the traditional tourist paradigm and experience the heart and soul of the Italian culture and way of living.

 

Goals

1) Confirm partnerships with local insider Italian providers of experiential learning: schools, individuals/guides, instructors.

2) Develop a calendar of courses in Florence and Tuscany open to US participants, in the following areas

  • Culinary Programs + Initiatives

    • Intensive Cooking Classes (Bread Making, Cheese Making

    • Harvest (Olive, Almond, Wine, Herbs, etc.)

  • Rooted Routes

    • Private and insightful excursions as part of Culture + Culinary Classes

  • Cultural Courses + Workshops + Lectures

    • Architecture, Archaeology, Art History, Italian Language, Literature, Photography, Painting, Ceramics, Travel Writing

  • Practicum

    • Experiential learning and professional practice/internships at Wineries, with Local Chefs, Artist Studios

  • Artists in Residence + Workshops

    • This is meant for both in the Creative and Culinary Arts. Hosting an array of international Chefs and Artists on-site that will conduct their own research, as well as engage with Retreat Guests during workshops and weekly lessons.  Artists and Chefs will leave their creative mark at the site by leaving some sort of an artwork, sculpture

3) Expanding into inverted programs for Italians coming to Texas and Mexico
